During my trip to O’ahu, Hawaii, I had the pleasure of meeting Representative Elijah Pierick of District 39; during our time together, he shared his passion for protecting children against any ideology that seeks to corrupt their innocent minds—at the same time, stopping people from severing a parent’s ability to be involved in their child’s decision-making while under the delegated care of a school.
As a public servant, he attended Ewa Makai Middle School (10 – 14 years old). He saw LGBTQ+ pride flags displayed in multiple classrooms. To keep transparency with his constituents and the public, he informed them of his findings:
“One object/ symbol that stood out to me was the LGBTQ flag placed around the campus near office spaces. The LGBTQ flag promotes the lesbian, gay, asexual, two-spirit, + lifestyle.”
-Representative Pierick
As a massive advocate for banning pride flags from classrooms, Rep. Pierick stated, “as your public servant, I believe you have the right to know what is being taught and endorsed to the next generation in your local schools.”
He proceeds to provide details on how to stay informed and have your voice heard by your local politicians!
What an outstanding elected official!
After this, the Chairperson of the Prince Kūhiō Parade (Joe Kūhiō Lewis @JoeKuhio on Instagram) told Rep. Pierick that he was no longer invited to the annual parade in honor of Prince Kūhiō.
These extreme actions of an organization that is supposed to celebrate accomplishments have turned into a political game at the expense of the Hawaiian people.
The gay flag is sexual, and any person who deems it appropriate in a classroom for children is, in fact, a groomer and should never be allowed to teach children again. Rep. Pierick and I produced a video together on supporting the LGBTQ community but not forcing it onto children:
Our country should not only ban pride flags from classrooms but ban anything that doesn’t have to do with the curriculum from being displayed in the classroom, which would include pro-life flags, Christian symbols, or any other private interest organization that has no place being displayed in the classrooms to indoctrinate your children into.
Kids attending school are there to learn, not be indoctrinated into a “teacher’s” belief or ideology. Parents are the ultimate authority for their children. Not a stranger in front of a room that calls themselves an “educator.”
